The global transformation of geomorphology

Abstract This chapter reviews the various developments in geomorphology terms of institutions, journals, textbooks, research stations, etc. Among institutions discussed are Binghamton Geomorphology Symposium, Geological Society America Quaternary Geology and Division, Association American Geographers Specialty Group, British Geomorphological Research IGU Commission on Measurements, Theory Application (COMTAG), International Geomorphologists, European Geosciences Union (EGU), Geophysical (AGU), Association, Conference Aeolian Research. Many countries established their own national bodies. A number new journals appeared, including Catena , Earth Surface Processes Landforms Géomorphologie . In addition, during closing decades twentieth century there was a proliferation textbooks geomorphology. One development that geomorphological promoted by establishment stations.
